Life, Goals, and Writing

It’s been a hot minute (or close to two years) since I’ve updated my website. I wish I could say I’ve been using this time to write all the words, but life has been in constant transition for me since fall of 2018.

I was laid off in 2018 and while I struggled to find something new I fell into a depression. Even once I found a job with amazing coworkers, I had a hard time connecting to the words so I started learning Korean and working out to feel better physically and mentally.

2019 brought separation, moving in with my parents and adjusting to coparenting and not seeing my daughter every day. It also brought another work transition that I found quite challenging. 2019 brought about a few endings, but also a new beginning.

2020 I moved in with my new partner, I was all set to get back to my world of words and then COVID hit. Struck with another transition to parenting full time while also working from home full time, writing once again took back burner. In June 2020 my partner and I were excited to announce I was expecting and in March of 2021 we welcomed our baby girl. In November of 2020 COVID struck our household. I, luckily, had a mild case, however my partner ended up in the hospital for 12 days, half of which were spent in the ICU. Last year was hard for everyone and I just didn’t have it in me to try to write a love story.

2021 is much brighter. Now that baby girl is no longer colicky, we’ve moved into a bigger space, and mentally I’m feeling much more capable of adding to my plate. I can’t guarantee I will release a book this year, but I am writing the first book in a new series. I also am excited that All About Us is in production to become an audiobook, coming this fall!

I really hope that readers will find their way back to me as I jump back in to writing and the book world.
